Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma who is also acting as the chief agent for ODM candidate in Kasipul by elections has pointed fingers at independent candidate Philip Aroko as the person responsible for the bullying meted against him at Agore Sare Polling Station.
Speaking to the media moments after he was roughed up by goons, Kaluma alleged that Mr Aroko gave a vicious "deal with him" order to his handlers shortly after he arrived at the polling station and greeted him ( Kaluma ).
"I saw a convoy arrive at the polling station and thought it was Boyd Were. I approached the vehicle only to realize it was Mr Philip Aroko. Upon greeting him, he ordered his men to deal with me," alleged Kaluma.
It was after the order was given that Kaluma was allegedly roughed up by goons and a gun belonging to one of his bodyguards confiscate d.
"The worst they did was snatch a gun from one of my bodyguards. The gun was handed over to Aroko himself," Kaluma added.
The Kasipul by-elections have turned out to be an acid test for the Orange Democratic party. A win for Aroko will be a blow to the ODM party which is looking to maintain grip on the Nyanza vote bloc.
