Video: Wild Brawl Erupts at Top Teachers' Union Meeting, Official Hospitalised

A high-level meeting of the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) descended into chaos when a violent brawl erupted among delegates.

The National Governing Council meeting, held at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), was abruptly interrupted by physical altercations that were captured on video and quickly spread online.

The dramatic footage shows a heated confrontation that spirals out of control on a veranda where delegates were gathered.

A uniformed official is seen in a fierce scuffle with another man in a beige jacket and jeans.

The situation escalates as several other men jump into the fray, turning it into a full-blown melee.

In the chaotic scenes, individuals are seen wrestling, shoving, and falling to the tiled floor.

At least one man is forcefully pulled to the ground as security personnel and other delegates struggle to separate the fighting parties and restore order to the prestigious event. The intensity of the fight sent other attendees scattering for safety.

The incident reportedly left at least one of the union officials injured to the extent that they required hospitalisation.

While the fight is confirmed by the video evidence, the specific cause of the dispute that triggered the shocking violence among the union leaders has not yet been officially stated by the KUPPET leadership.

Following the chaotic events, there has been no immediate public statement from the KUPPET National Executive Council addressing the altercation or the condition of the injured official.

The incident has since raised serious questions among the public regarding the conduct of the union's top leadership during official proceedings.
