"Your Mouth is Costing Us" MP Blames Gachagua for Weakening Opposition Against Ruto

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has launched a sharp attack on DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of contributing to the steady decline of the United Opposition at a time when the country is preparing for the 2027 contest between President William Ruto and the opposition.

Salasya claimed that Gachagua has been messing up the Opposition every time he opens his mouth, arguing that his remarks are creating unnecessary divisions instead of strengthening the coalition.

The legislator further vowed to resume his nationwide campaign tours where he intends to openly call out Gachagua and other leaders he described as political jokers who are sabotaging the unity and credibility of the Opposition.

Salasya said the country needs leaders who prioritize the welfare of young people, job opportunities, and strong governance rather than engaging in divisive tribal politics.

His criticism follows Gachagua’s recent statement claiming that the Kikuyu community controls Nairobi and would occupy top leadership positions, remarks that sparked backlash across the political divide.

Gachagua, who has declared interest in challenging President Ruto in 2027 and is facing stiff competition from fellow Opposition leaders including Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka and Former CS Fred Matiang’i who also wants to be the opposition flag bearer.
