"Hatutaki hiyo Kiti Yako." Oburu Odinga Tells off Kindiki in Broad Daylight Concerning his DP Seat

Oburu Odinga has dismissed speculation that the Orange Democratic Movement is seeking to wrestle the Deputy President’s seat from Kithure Kindiki during negotiations with UDA.

Speaking amid rising political realignments, Oburu said ODM’s engagement with the ruling coalition is issue-based and focused on national stability rather than power struggles.

“Usifikirie tunataka kiti yako,” Oburu remarked, emphasizing that Kindiki’s position as Deputy President is not on the negotiation table.

The ODM strategist noted that Kenya’s current political climate requires dialogue and compromise rather than endless competition that risks polarizing the country.

Oburu explained that ODM’s priority is to push governance reforms, economic recovery, and inclusivity rather than targeting individual leaders.

His remarks come as talks between ODM and UDA continue to spark debate among political observers and grassroots supporters.

Some analysts believe the negotiations signal a possible long-term realignment ahead of future elections, while others view them as short-term cooperation.

Kindiki, a key ally of President William Ruto, has remained firm in defending the Kenya Kwanza administration’s agenda.

UDA officials have welcomed dialogue but insist that the government’s leadership structure is non-negotiable.

Oburu reiterated that ODM respects the mandate given to elected leaders by Kenyan voters.

He added that opposition parties can still engage government constructively without surrendering their oversight role.

The statement is expected to calm tensions within political circles that feared destabilization at the top of government.

Political watchers say the assurance could create room for bipartisan cooperation on critical legislation in Parliament.

As Kenya navigates economic pressures and social demands, leaders across the divide are under pressure to put national interest first.
