Former Powerful MP Makes Grand Return Into Politics After 20 Years in the Cold

He was once a political force in Nairobi. But after losing his MP seat, he disappeared into oblivion, becoming a pale shadow of his former self.

Riding on a NARC tsunami that had swept across the country in 2002, Reuben Owino Ndolo was elected as Makadara MP.

But five years later, in 2007, he was defeated by PNU's and former Nairobi Mayor Dick Waathika. Since then, he has never recovered.

The former boxer unsuccessfully ran for the position during a by-election in 2010 but still lost to the flamboyant Mike Sonko.

Since then, he has never recovered. It has been a series of election loses for the former lawmaker.

But 20 years later, the former MP is back with s bang. Ndolo has realigned with the Linda Mwananchi faction of the ODM party which is led by its embattled Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Siaya County Governor James Orengo.

As a key member of the radical wing of the ODM party, Ndolo seems to be plotting to make a political comeback after two decades in the cold.

Will he run for the Makadara MP seat? Or what exactly is his political game plan? Well, only time will tell.

Ndolo has been all over the place, attending Linda Mwananchi meetings and in radio and TV interviews.
