The Linda Mwananchi Movement is positioning itself as a key opposition force ahead of the 2027 general elections, distancing itself from any cooperation between Orange Democratic Movement and United Democratic Alliance.
The group argues that such collaboration weakens the opposition’s ability to hold the government accountable.
Anchored on the slogan “Wantam – One Term is Real,” the movement is focused on ensuring William Ruto does not secure a second term. Its messaging is centered on everyday economic struggles, including high taxes, unemployment, and the rising cost of living, especially the price of maize flour.
The movement has intensified grassroots mobilization through tours in traditional opposition regions such as Busia, Kakamega, Vihiga, and the Coast.
Led by Edwin Sifuna, it is also leveraging a Digital Membership Registry to build a verified support base and advance a third-force strategy.
