Arati Breaks Silence: How He Secretly Saved Matiang'i When Ruto Was Closing In on Him

Kisii Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati led a delegation of Gusii ODM leaders from the Kisii County Assembly to the Utawala home of Senator Richard Onyonka, joined by Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga.

They came to mourn with the Senator following his mother's passing. What Arati said while he was there is what Kenya is now talking about.

"Matiang'i is my project. Most people don't know that."

Arati did not stop there. He reached into the past and brought out something that had never been said publicly before.

During the period when the former Deputy President was mounting pressure against Matiang'i, Arati was not watching from the sidelines.

He revealed that Matiang'i personally dispatched him alongside Professor Sam Ongeri to the President the sole purpose being to intervene and defuse the tension that was building around Matiang'i at the time.

That is a different kind of relationship. A man does not send someone to the President on his behalf unless he trusts them completely.

What Arati described yesterday was not political alignment it was loyalty tested under pressure and delivered quietly.
