"Miguu Niponye" Gachagua-Kalonzo Rally Cut Short As Crowd Scampers For Safety After This Happened

A joint political rally in Gilgil, Nakuru County, featuring former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka ended abruptly on Tuesday evening after chaos erupted among the crowd.

The rally, organized to promote their emerging political coalition, had drawn a large number of supporters from across the county.

The two leaders were expected to address the gathering on their plans for national unity and regional development. However, the event took an unexpected turn shortly after it began when a commotion started at one corner of the venue.

Eyewitnesses reported a sudden wave of panic as people began running in all directions. The tension spread quickly, forcing organizers and security officers to intervene. In the confusion, chairs were overturned, and sections of the crowd scattered into nearby streets and open fields.

Security personnel swiftly moved in to control the situation and guide the leaders to safety. Their hurried exit from the venue signaled the premature end of the event. Moments later, the venue was largely deserted, with police remaining behind to manage the crowd and assess the scene.

Organizers later accused political opponents of orchestrating the chaos to disrupt the rally. They pointed fingers at supporters linked to Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, alleging deliberate interference meant to intimidate their followers. Local authorities have yet to confirm these claims, but investigations are expected to begin immediately.
