"Usiku Si Rahisi" Drama as Court Sends Away Couples Who Wanted Divorce after Wife's Shock Reveal

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Milimani Law Courts after a newlywed couple attempted to file for divorce just days after their vibrant, colourful wedding ceremony.

The couple, who tied the knot barely a week ago, shocked many when they appeared before the family division seeking to end their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to reports, the wife complained that her husband had been denying her rest during the night, insisting on constant intimacy.

“Usiku si rahisi,” the visibly exhausted woman told the court, explaining that the man wanted to be intimate “all the time,” leaving her drained and unable to cope.

She argued that the behaviour had turned their short-lived marriage into a burden rather than a joyful union.

However, the episode took an unexpected turn when the presiding judge observed the couple more closely.

Despite their divorce request, they had arrived in matching outfits — both dressed in clothes of the same colour, looking coordinated like a deeply united pair. This contradiction immediately caught the judge’s attention.

The judge questioned how a couple intending to end their marriage could still appear so harmoniously dressed.

After a brief exchange, the judge concluded that the two were not serious about their decision and were reacting out of emotion rather than genuine marital breakdown.

In a rather humorous yet firm ruling, the judge dismissed their application and sent them away, advising them to return only when they were truly serious about seeking a divorce.

He encouraged them to resolve their issues privately, noting that marriage requires communication, patience, and mutual understanding.

The incident has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.

Many Kenyans found the judge’s approach both wise and comical, urging the couple to give their young marriage a fair chance before opting out.
