Not Yet Over for Gachagua as Kindiki Goes After Newton Karish With Plum State Job Enticement

After losing the Mbeere North Constituency parliamentary contest, the DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua and his DP counterpart Justin Muturi could end up losing the candidate who nearly delivered the win to them, Newton Karish.

This is after the deputy president Kithure Kindiki directly went after him with a plum state job enticement. "Bring him to my office and I will give him a job," said Kindiki during an interview with Nation Africa.

Gachagua and the United opposition faction now risks losing a formidable candidate who could have again represented the team in the 2027 elections. It is currently unclear and unknown whether Karish will accept to join hands with Kindiki.

As part of their campaign strategy, the UDA faction dished out state jobs to disgruntled candidates who had lost in party primaries. This was to prevent any decamping.

Dishing out state jobs to strong opponents seems to be a new 2027 campaign strategy the ruling coalition is using to avoid strong competition.

Similarly in Malava, government allied forces have been rooting for Panyako's appointment to a government position.

It will finally boil down to the principles, integrity and beliefs held by those being enticed with state jobs. Will they ditch the opposition or stick with it despite the loss?
