“Huyu ni Madam Wangu”: Maurice Ogeta Publicly Introduces His Beautiful Fiancée During Emotional Siaya Family Gathering

Raila Odinga’s longtime bodyguard, Maurice Ogeta, has warmed hearts online after introducing his fiancée to the public for the first time during a colourful family gathering at his rural home in Uyoma, Siaya County.

The low-key but meaningful event doubled as a welcome home celebration for Ogeta following months of mourning the late ODM leader. Family, friends and a host of notable guests turned up to stand with him as he marked a new chapter in his life.

Among those present were Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, former Cabinet secretary Moses Kuria and political activist Nuru Okanga, giving the occasion both a personal and public touch.

In a touching moment that quickly went viral, Ogeta’s family lined up to introduce themselves to guests.

His eldest sister took charge, gently tapping each family member as she called out their names. When she got to Ogeta’s partner, she simply introduced her as Ann — a moment that sparked murmurs and smiles among attendees.

When it was his turn to speak, Ogeta kept things brief but heartfelt. He began by introducing his stepmother, noting she is the only surviving wife in his late father’s polygamous family.

He then turned to Ann, referring to her affectionately as his “madam,” confirming their engagement and formally welcoming her before family and friends.

Photos and short clips from the event spread quickly on social media, with many netizens praising Ann’s elegance and quiet confidence. Comments poured in, with users admiring the couple and applauding Ogeta for balancing dignity, tradition and love in such a public moment.

Known for his loyalty and calm presence during Raila Odinga’s public life, Maurice Ogeta has largely kept his private affairs away from the spotlight.

This rare glimpse into his personal world showed a softer side — one rooted in family, respect and fresh beginnings.
