Before former Lugari constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Cyrus Jirongo, died on Saturday 13th December 2025, he had carved a distinctive path through the corridors of power and thus amassing immense influence in the political arena.
Even though he was famously known for his charismatic leadership and outspoken nature, the late MP was also master of creating laughter and the jokes he used to crack always kept his audience yearning for more.
In a throwback video illustrating his jovial side, Cyrus Jirongo had been invited for an interview at KTN television some years ago, which was being conducted by the celebrated TV icon Jeff Koinange.
During The interview, Cyrus Jirongo in his jovial way was not shy from cracking the ribs of those who were following the show, after he gave a recount painting how retired Head of State His Excellency President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta was a hard-working man aside from being influential in the political sphere.
While giving his recount to portray Uhuru's "hardworking nature," Cyrus Jirongo indicated that in the lead up to the 2017 general elections, he had hosted Uhuru Kenyatta at his house in Kitale, after a tiresome day of rigorous campaigns.
As per his pronouncement, they spent long hours discussing political matters until late night before they retired to bed.
According to Jirongo, in the morning at around 6 o'clock Uhuru Kenyatta was allegedly at his cowshed milking his (Jirongo's cows) while the late MP was still asleep.
In a rather controversial fashion, Jirongo had alleged during the show that Uhuru had even loaded the milk in the milking cans and was ready to ferry the milk to the market, after loading it on a pickup.
The hilarious side of late Cyrus Jirongo in the political arena will truly be felt by those who knew him and also by his family which is currently in a cloud of grief.
May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
