Pauline Njoroge has questioned President William Ruto's prospects for re-election in 2027, claiming that his first term is already "one term loading."
Njoroge claimed that Ruto faced a difficult battle to recover public trust and confidence before the next election.
"Ruto has a lot of work to do to regain public confidence and trust, and looking at the current circumstances, I doubt he will manage to change the perception most people have of him before 2027," she told me.
Njoroge identified Ruto's apparent arrogance and dishonesty as significant drawbacks. "If more than 90% of Kenyans believe he lies every time he speaks, there is a serious problem. But is he listening? "Does he learn?" She asked.
The analyst also criticised the new administration's aloof and aggressive demeanour, claiming that "the arrogance with his MPs and officials is also a great undoing."
Pauline compared this to the issues faced by previous governments, claiming that "never has Kenya experienced one that is this arrogant, deceitful, tone deaf, and out of touch."
Njoroge was particularly critical of the resurgence of "harambee" fundraisers, in which politicians give away millions while citizens struggle to get basic government services.
Na majamaa hadi wamerejesha zile harambee za Nyayo where citizens can barely get basic government services, but politicians are dishing out millions of shillings out there," she told the crowd.
Njoroge believes that these reasons will combine to force Ruto to face a reckoning in 2027. "One term loading!" "Kenyans will make a very big statement in 2027," she declared.
