"Amesema TUTAM" What Crowd Did To A Man Who Shouted TUTAM While Kalonzo Was Speaking In Ukambani

Chaos briefly broke out in Kitui County today during a political rally attended by opposition leaders, where Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka was addressing residents.

The event, which had started peacefully, turned tense after a section of the crowd began chanting “Two term” loudly, causing confusion and commotion among attendees.

During the commotion, one man was allegedly slapped by people within the crowd after he continued shouting the slogan, leading to panic and a brief disruption of the meeting.

Security personnel and organizers quickly moved in to calm the situation and prevent further violence.

In response, Kalonzo Musyoka paused his speech and urged the crowd to remain calm. He asked supporters not to attack anyone, saying that differences of opinion should be handled peacefully.

He also called for forgiveness for the man involved, asking the crowd to let the matter go and continue with the rally peacefully.

The incident comes amid rising political activity in Kitui County as leaders intensify campaigns and rallies ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Opposition figures, including Kalonzo Musyoka and others, have been touring the region seeking support.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also attended the rally, where he made remarks urging residents to support Wiper candidates in future elections.

Police have not yet issued an official statement on the incident, but calm was restored and the rally continued after a short interruption.

Leaders at the event urged supporters to avoid violence and respect differing political opinions.

The incident has raised concern over growing tensions in political gatherings as the country moves closer to the 2027 elections, where competition among parties is expected to intensify.

Residents were seen dispersing peacefully after the event ended. Organizers said they will review security arrangements for future rallies. They urged calm political engagement across all parties moving forward.
