Senator Godfrey Osotsi has revealed the shocking details of an attack that occurred in Kisumu, which he claims was an attempt on his life.
The incident, which took place in broad daylight, has sent ripples across the political landscape, raising questions about security lapses and political motives.
"I saw a group of youths, about 20 of them, entering. They did not look right. They wanted to harm me because they were shouting 'senator! senator!'. When they moved closer, a few of them greeted me, and all of a sudden, they started hitting me," Osotsi recounted.
The senator, visibly shaken, accused senior security officials of orchestrating the attack, suggesting that the group’s actions were not random but rather part of a calculated plan to intimidate or silence him.
This attack follows a series of politically charged incidents in Kisumu, where political figures and activists have increasingly found themselves targets of violence.
Osotsi's claims have further fueled suspicions of political scheming behind such acts, with many in his camp pointing fingers at rival factions.
The senator’s allegations raise serious concerns about the safety of elected leaders and the involvement of law enforcement in safeguarding them from such attacks.
With his accusations now public, questions linger over who is behind the plot to harm him and why senior officials might be implicated in the attack.
Osotsi's team has vowed to pursue justice, while human rights groups are calling for an independent investigation into the incident.
The senator’s supporters have also voiced their anger, demanding accountability and action from the authorities to ensure the safety of public figures.
