Kenyans on social media have reacted with sympathy after photos and videos circulated showing Kikuyu businessman and gospel musician Karangu Wa Muraya in an emotional state during the send-off of his brother.
The images were captured during the viewing of the body at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Kabati, where he appeared overwhelmed by grief.
In the widely shared content, Karangu is seen crying beside the coffin, while another image shows him being assisted to walk, as he seemed unable to hold himself together.
The scenes have drawn reactions online, with many Kenyans sending messages of comfort and encouraging him to stay strong.
In his social media post, Karangu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his brother, describing the bond they shared and noting that the love he had for him would always remain.
He also indicated that the family had gathered at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home for the viewing, before proceeding to final burial arrangements in Murang’a County.
He further informed friends and relatives about the funeral program, mentioning that the burial was scheduled to take place in Mathioya Constituency, Kiriaini area, Kagioini village.
He also noted that the funeral service would be held at Kagioini Primary School, and welcomed all who wished to attend.
In another emotional message, Karangu is said to have reflected on the final moments with his brother, expressing gratitude for the time they shared while acknowledging the pain of laying him to rest.
He also referred to his late brother, Peter Kareithi, in a heartfelt farewell message shared online.
