President Ruto Forced To Cut Speech Short After Busia Residents Began Making These Chants

President William Ruto on Friday caused a brief stir during his tour of Busia County after publicly reprimanding one of his security officers for blocking residents from approaching the podium.

The head of state, who was addressing a roadside crowd, paused his speech when he noticed some officers preventing locals from getting closer to the barricades.

Visibly irritated, Ruto questioned the officer’s judgment, asking, “Unafungia wananchi gate kichwa yako ni mzuri? Bure kabisa!” His remarks drew laughter and cheers from the crowd, which had gathered in large numbers to listen to him.

Moments later, chants erupted from the excited audience, forcing the president to momentarily halt his address. The crowd’s energy appeared to overwhelm the event, prompting Ruto to wait for calm before resuming his speech.

The president was in Busia to launch a series of development projects, including infrastructure upgrades and market improvements.

However, the dramatic exchange quickly became the highlight of the visit, with many Kenyans sharing clips of the incident online.

Ruto’s candid outburst underscored his hands-on approach during public engagements, a style that continues to draw both admiration and criticism across the political divide.
