Protests have erupted across Tanzania following the country’s recent elections. Demonstrators in major cities have taken to the streets demanding fair elections, transparency, and reforms.
Tanzania held its general elections on 29 October 2025, where citizens were expected to elect the president, members of parliament, and local leaders.
However, the run-up to the polls was overshadowed by growing allegations of repression and intimidation.
This unrest has been fueled by claims of opposition leaders being jailed or disqualified and concerns over the credibility of the vote.
Reports have revealed that Tanzanians broke into police store, stole uniforms and wore like police to walk around tonight during curfew. All police were allegedly and adviced to stay indoors as those outside are not real police.
It's has been revealed that more than 30 people have been confirmed dead following the protests .
Human rights organizations have urged Tanzanian authorities to exercise restraint and investigate allegations of excessive use of force against protesters.
