Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sparked a new political discussion by claiming that Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will soon join the unified opposition.
Kalonzo noted that the Opposition alliance welcomes all leaders, regardless of their existing political party affiliations, and that their unity is motivated by a desire to protect Kenyan interests.
Kalonzo stated that the developing alliance will include leaders from the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Wiper, the Democratic Action Party (DAP-K), and any other political party ready to support what he described as a people-driven movement.
He indicated that the Opposition's goal is to establish a strong front before the 2027 General Election, and that more leaders are expected to cross over in the coming months.
According to Kalonzo, Babu Owino and Senator Sifuna have shown a commitment to preserving citizens' rights and opposing policies that they believe harm ordinary Kenyans.
He claimed that their involvement in the United Opposition will strengthen the alliance and provide citizens a stronger voice.
In a surprising turn of events, Kalonzo remarked that Kenyans would eventually respect former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for "speaking the truth publicly."
He did not go into detail, but hinted that Gachagua's recent political comments had revealed truths that are now influencing national conversation and driving more leaders to the opposition.
Kalonzo urged leaders to put their personal interests aside and work together to safeguard democracy, stating that the next chapter of Kenyan politics will require courage and honesty.
He promised supporters that the Opposition would remain united and would continue to mobilise leaders committed to transparency and accountability. His remarks are likely to deepen political realignments as parties prepare for the 2027 election.
