President William Ruto has taken off his former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, over his latest call to centralise National Schools in Kenya.
Speaking during the second phase of the NYOTA Fund in Nakuru on Friday, the Head of State said the government will not condone Gachagua continuing to spew tribal remarks.
Ruto said that trying to interfere with the education sector can only be equated to stepping on live electric wires, and that consequences cannot be ignored.
Finally, without mentioning Gachagua, Ruto said that anyone who thinks National Schools should accommodate children from that area needs medication, because no single National School is owned by a particular area. He said the Kenyan government provides the funding.
"Na ndio mimi nataka niwaambie. Brainless, bankrupt politicians who want to create barriers, erect road blocks, I want to tell them, the reason we have National Schools is that we want to break colonial chains.
"All those schools have been built using the resources from the government of Kenya. Mimi nataka niwaambie, we will not allow anyone to balkanise our children," Ruto said.
