Kabuchai Member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga has issued a stark warning to political aspirants across Western Kenya, urging them to align with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s camp ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking at a public event in the region, Kalasinga argued that failure to do so could leave leaders politically isolated and rejected by voters.
“The political landscape is changing fast. Anyone ignoring the growing influence of Sifuna and his movement risks being left behind,” Kalasinga told attendees, emphasizing the need for unity behind emerging leadership.
Kalasinga described Sifuna as a “fresh and unstoppable force” capable of galvanizing Western Kenya and driving meaningful political change.

According to him, the electorate increasingly favors leaders who demonstrate energy, principle, and a clear commitment to defending the interests of ordinary citizens.
The remarks come as the Linda Mwananchi faction, led by Sifuna, gains momentum in the region. Recent rallies organized by Sifuna’s allies, including stops in Kakamega and other counties, have drawn large crowds, signaling what analysts describe as a generational and ideological shift within Kenya’s opposition.
Kalasinga also highlighted ongoing internal divisions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and broader opposition politics, noting that emerging alliances could significantly influence the outcome of the 2027 elections.

He stressed that any serious aspirant from Western Kenya must recognize the changing political tide and align with leaders like Sifuna to maintain relevance.
Political commentators view Kalasinga’s statement as part of a broader strategy to consolidate regional support for Sifuna, potentially positioning him for a presidential bid or another powerful national role.
