The leaders of the Akurino have slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for calling them traitors for visiting President William Ruto at State House.
According to reports, the members of the Akurino visited State House, where they interacted with the Head of State.
They called on President Ruto and his deputy to address some of the challenges they said have been pending.
The President affirmed that he was going to address their issues and also said that everyone is welcome at State House.
The meeting caught the attention of the former Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi, who described them as traitors.
He alleged that the group joined the list of traitors who have been trying to sanitize the government even after the deaths of Kenyans killed during the protests against the proposed 2024 Finance Bill.
"To the Akurino who went to State House, I want you to know that you are speaking for yourselves. You have joined the long list of traitors who have been going after their stomach," Rigathi Gachagua said.
Responding to Rigathi, these leaders called on politicians to be respectful, adding that they were not going to turn down the President's request.
They also called on politicians who are insulting them to know that the time for asking for votes is approaching.
