DP Kindiki Embarrassed At His Backyard As Close Allies Face Hostile Crowd Who Heckled Them

A development tour in Tharaka Nithi County turned tense on Thursday when Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other leaders were met with a hostile crowd. Videos of the event have been widely shared online.

Deputy President Kindiki had invited leaders to join him, expecting a warm welcome. But the first speaker, Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Njeri Kinuthia, was shouted down by angry residents. Loud jeers and chants forced her to stop speaking.

The next speaker faced the same problem, with the crowd refusing to listen. Kindiki tried to calm the situation, asking residents to respect their leaders and allow them to speak.

He said it was important to have dialogue and unity during public events.

Political experts say the incident could show tensions in the area and possible changes in local political support.

Even though Kindiki stayed calm, the negative reception shows that leaders may face challenges when talking to the public about development.

Online, reactions have been mixed. Some people said the heckling was wrong, while others said it showed frustration with leaders.

The event reminds politicians that even in areas they consider safe, public opinion can be unpredictable and loud.
