Itumbi upset Move Shakes Embu: Door-to-Door Blitz Leaves Rivals Panicking

A fresh wave of political excitement has swept through Muminji in Mbeere North after digital strategist-turned-political mobiliser Dennis Itumbi hit the ground to drum up support for UDA’s Leonard Leo Wa Muthende.

Instead of the usual convoy, loudspeakers and rented crowds, Itumbi ditched the traditional campaign playbook and opted for a direct, human-touch strategy — literally knocking on doors and sitting with residents in their compounds.

The move has sparked buzz across Embu’s political circles, with many noting how unusual it is in today’s era of flashy rallies.

Itumbi spent time listening to locals, engaging them in candid discussions about their daily struggles, and encouraging them to back Wa Muthende.

Residents seemed pleasantly surprised by the personalised touch, calling the visit “refreshing” and “real politics, not drama.”

Political commentators say Itumbi’s sudden appearance in the constituency is no casual stopover.

His return to village-level mobilisation is seen as a strategic reboot of UDA’s “hustler-style” grassroots politics that powered the party’s 2022 win.

With 2027 fast approaching, insiders believe the ruling party is quietly fortifying its base to counter rising political waves from leaders positioning themselves as Mount Kenya kingpins.

Youth who interacted with Itumbi hinted that this soft-spoken, people-first strategy could resonate more deeply than big rallies that often lack substance.

As Embu becomes a crucial battleground in the region, the big question now is whether this personal campaign style will convert conversations into votes — and whether rival camps are ready for this unexpected political curveball.
