ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna hinted at forming a political partnership with former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka during a rally in Kisii.
Speaking at a Kenya Moja Alliance event, Sifuna urged opposition leaders to work together and asked citizens to support a united front against President William Ruto.
Using light humor, he said that Matiang’i, Kalonzo, himself, and area MP Obadiah Barongo should “pull together” in pushing back against the president’s agenda.
The statement drew loud applause, with the crowd interpreting it as a sign of growing opposition unity.
Sifuna also accused the government of failing to deliver basic services, claiming many Kenyans are still dealing with delays, inefficiency, and empty promises.
He added that depending on police interventions has not solved community challenges, stressing the need for leaders who can provide real solutions.
The rally took place just hours before President Ruto’s scheduled visit to Kisii, a move seen as strategic.
Political observers believe Sifuna’s remarks about Matiang’i and Kalonzo signal early efforts to build a coordinated team aimed at challenging Ruto in the 2027 elections.
