Johana Ng’eno’s Widow Naiyanoi Ntutu Thanks Kenyans for Support After Husband’s Death as She Opens Up on Healing Journey

The widow of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno, Naiyanoi Ntutu, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kenyans for standing with her during one of the most difficult moments of her life.

Naiyanoi spoke weeks after laying her husband to rest, following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed his life alongside five others, including the pilot.

The late MP was buried on March 6 in Mogondo, Emurua Dikirr, in an emotional ceremony attended by top leaders, including President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, as well as thousands of mourners.

Taking to her social media, Naiyanoi shared a touching message appreciating the overwhelming support she has received from Kenyans across the country.

She revealed that messages of condolence and encouragement had played a significant role in helping her cope with the loss.

She admitted that while she may not have responded to every message individually, she had seen and deeply appreciated the love shown to her and her family.

Naiyanoi also gave special recognition to her close relatives, especially her cousins, for their unwavering presence and emotional support during her grieving period.

Her remarks come shortly after she made the decision to withdraw from the race to succeed her late husband as Member of Parliament.

Naiyanoi had initially received backing from her family and elders, including the Kapkaon clan, to contest the seat.

However, she opted to step back from the political contest on March 23, a move that has since reshaped the political landscape in the area.

Following her withdrawal, allies of the late MP shifted their support to his former personal assistant, Bernard Ngeno.

The decision sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some praising her for prioritising her family and personal healing, while others encouraged her to reconsider and carry on her husband’s legacy in leadership.
