Speculations Arise Over Millie Odhiambo's Future After She Endorsed The Linda Mwananchi Slogan

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has set political tongues wagging after reposting a message on X endorsing the hashtag LindaMwananchi just hours after the ODM Youth Convention held in Nairobi on Monday April 20 2026.

The repost came within 37 minutes of the original post from the ODM Reloaded account and carried the message "From Tunataka Pawaaa to Tunataka Respect. Mambo Bado! LindaMwananchi is the way to go."

The post was accompanied by a video clip from the convention showing Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris dressed in the party's signature red attire addressing the youth wing with visible passion and intensity.

Passaris fired direct criticism at the ruling United Democratic Alliance demanding respect for ODM leaders members and supporters.

She called for a shift from the old rallying cry of Tunataka Pawa to a new emphasis on Tunataka Respect signalling a change in tone for the Orange party's messaging.

Political analysts and social media users moved quickly to interpret Odhiambo's swift endorsement as more than routine party solidarity.

The speed and timing of the repost triggered immediate speculation that she may be positioning herself for a possible exit from ODM.

Odhiambo has been an ODM loyalist since 2013 and is known as a fierce advocate for women's rights and accountability.

She has however occasionally voiced frustration over the party's direction and what she sees as limited space for independent voices within its structures.

Her decision to amplify the LindaMwananchi message has therefore fuelled online debate about her true political intentions and whether she is signalling a quiet drift away from the party's mainstream leadership under Oburu Oginga.

The hashtag LindaMwananchi which translates to Protect the Citizen reflects a growing push within ODM circles to reframe the party's opposition messaging around ordinary Kenyans' economic struggles and governance concerns.

The closing phrase Mambo Bado meaning the matter is still alive reinforces the message that the political contest against the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration is far from finished.

As of Monday evening neither Odhiambo nor ODM headquarters had issued any clarifying statement about the repost leaving room for continued speculation across social media platforms.

Whether her single repost marks a personal realignment a subtle protest or simply enthusiasm for a new party slogan remains an open question that only time will answer.
