Listen to What Mithika Linturi Told Gachagua During the Campaign as He Fired at President Ruto

Mithika Linturi on Monday launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto while addressing residents of Mbeere North ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Linturi, who toured the constituency alongside former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accused the President of abandoning key promises made to the region during the 2022 campaigns.

Speaking at several stopovers, Linturi claimed that many development projects had stalled due to what he termed “poor leadership and misplaced priorities” within the current administration.

He urged residents to use the by-election to send a strong message to the government, insisting that leaders must be held accountable for commitments made to the public.

Gachagua, who also addressed the crowds, echoed Linturi’s sentiments, alleging that the Kenya Kwanza administration had sidelined the Mt. Kenya region despite its overwhelming support in the last election.

He urged voters to back a candidate who would champion their interests in Parliament and push for long-pending infrastructure and agricultural reforms.

Linturi further accused the government of neglecting farmers, noting that the high cost of inputs and delayed payments had worsened the economic situation for many households.

He said Mbeere North deserves representation that understands its agricultural potential and is ready to fight for resources.

Residents turned out in large numbers, with many expressing frustration over unfulfilled promises.

The by-election has since intensified political activity, drawing national attention as rival camps pitch their agendas to the electorate.

With only days to go, the entry of Linturi and Gachagua is expected to heighten the contest as candidates scramble for last-minute support.
