What Residents Were Heard Shouting In Mbeere As UDA Governor Tried To Address Them, Muturi React

Former CS Justin Muturi has injected fresh energy into the already charged Mbeere North by-election campaign after recounting a dramatic encounter in which residents boldly rejected attempts by a senior UDA county official to address them.

Speaking during an intense evening stopover rally, Muturi revealed that the crowd’s reaction was so overwhelming that the governor—who had accompanied UDA campaign teams—was forced to retreat without delivering his planned remarks.

According to Muturi, the residents’ response was immediate, unified, and impossible to ignore.

His narration, captured in a viral reel he shared on social media, has rapidly circulated across Embu, stirring discussions about the changing political atmosphere in the constituency.

The clip shows Muturi describing how the governor struggled to calm the increasingly vocal crowd, eventually opting to step aside as the chants grew louder.

This moment, Muturi said, reflected a deeper political awakening among the people of Mbeere North.

Muturi emphasized that what he witnessed was not an isolated flare-up, but a clear expression of frustration from residents who feel marginalized and dismissed by the ruling administration.

He pointed out that even the presence of high-profile leaders such as Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen did little to sway the public mood.

Instead, he said, their visits only appeared to strengthen the community’s resolve, with residents showing even greater determination to assert their own political will.

According to Muturi, Hon. Newton Karish of the Democratic Congress Party (DCP) has emerged as the symbol of this newfound assertiveness.

He said Karish’s message of integrity, fairness, and inclusive development has resonated deeply with voters who are tired of empty promises and want a leader who understands their struggles. 

Muturi further noted that the enthusiasm he witnessed on the ground is unlike anything seen in the region in recent election cycles.

As the by-election scheduled for the 27th draws closer, Muturi believes the growing confidence among Mbeere North residents signals a defining moment.

He described the mood as that of a constituency ready to chart a new course—one driven not by political pressure but by community conviction. 

For him, the reactions on the ground could be the clearest sign yet that the political balance in the county is on the verge of a major shift.
